A Grand Welcome to all! Join us in celebrating the launch of the 2009 Various Voices London Festival. A selection of our visiting choirs join us to open the festival in a traditionally frivolous May Day style. Come along and sing a madrigal with us and witness the banks of the River Thames bursting into life with song and much merriment.

The Opening Ceremony will be hosted by the beloved broadcaster Sandi Toksvig and opened by the Deputy Mayor of London, Richard Barnes. It will culminate with the debut rendition of Various Voices 2009 Festival Song, Here’s Where I Stand, led by special guest soloist Lesley Garrett and sung by all. Lesley will also be singing the rousing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' from Carousel, the production she is currently starring in at The Savoy Theatre.
